Welcome To The Auction!

Gonzaga Hockey Program’s National Capital Hockey Tournament, known as the Purple Puck,  was started in December 1993 and described by former Gonzaga president  as " the first Gonzaga-sponsored hockey tournament and the first hockey tournament for high school teams in the Washington, D.C. area.” Twenty-four years later we proudly hold that distinction, and continue that tradition in our annual tournament.

The Purple Puck tournament celebrates its 24th anniversary in 2016, and each year grows in popularity and talent level. This five day, USA Hockey sanctioned, tournament has hosted  teams across 2 divisions. High school hockey teams from Canada, Chicago, Ohio have competed in year’s past,  and this year the Prep Division will be hosting Loyola Montreal, St Joseph’s Prep from Pennsylvania, The Hun School from New Jersey and 2 local rivals: Georgetown Prep and Calvert Hall. The Varsity Division will be hosting St Joseph’s Prep, Spalding and Robinson Hockey teams.

Each year, the Purple Puck extends our Men for Others motto by collecting donations from our Gonzaga Hockey families to hold an annual auction for a local charity. This year  proceeds from this Online Auction will be dedicated to Friends of Ridge Road, a non-profit organization that believes in building up our youth through recreation, education, career development and mentorship programs. http://www.ridgeroadtitans.com/ Your tax deductible donation will help local children in the SouthEast DC neighborhood  by supporting educational, developmental and athletic programs.
